Henkle Middle School's staff hails from all parts of the United States. The beauty of our region and the character of its citizens lure them here to stay. Our students benefit from the staff's sense of adventure that brought them to the Mid-Columbia Gorge in the first place, as well as from their excellent preparation and dedication to kids!

White Salmon Valley students typically demonstrate dramatic growth in their academic skills. Compared to their peers statewide, district students show dramatically higher gains in WASL achievement from the time they first take the state assessment as elementary students to sophomore year, when passing the test is an important graduation requirement. This type of long-term growth occurs when children have outstanding teachers.
